Fun Fact: The "tripod" for the camera in Undercover 1 and 2 was actually a baseball glove. The camera base would squeeze right between the fingers of the glove, and would stay upright. This was because the camera couldn't screw into a tripod. Also, Undercover 1 and 2 were the only movies that used the glove as a tripod, all of the others used flat surfaces or we just held the camera.

Okay, so if you look back at my post in January of this year, you will see that my goal was to have 1000 views total on YouTube, and we currently have 822... That means that we have 172 views that we need to get by January 1st, 2014... Hopefully, the hanna holiday movie event will push us over... Restaurants in middle-Earth is now on YouTube, and the green ninja will be as well by next week, hopefully. The Undercover 3 trailer comes out tomorrow, as well as some behind the scenes, and consequently, we will not be posting a pic or a fun fact... Undercover Fun Fact: The plans that Zach Fry (the other agent w/ the lisp) and Blake Jenkins were looking at were actually the script that we had.... there was no other paper that we could find while filming at that time....

Undercover 3: Heroic Return is going to be the longest of the trilogy, at about 7-10 minutes long, we are going to post pictures from all three productions as many days as possible starting tomorrow and going until the release of the movie. Also, Undercover 3 I'll feature a song composed by HFA's CEO, Christian Hanna... This is going to be epic... I'm going to also post fun facts about The Undercover movies after each picture... Fun Fact: undercover 3 had six different scripts written for it, and none of them were used.... We just made it up as we went along, and the last movie that we made up as we went was Undercover 1

November 16th

I know that my updates have all been up and down, but I am now saying that Desolation: Episode 1 will not be ready by the 16th, but I have a movie that was made almost a year ago that will be posted right here on Saturday, and hopefully Desolation: Episode 1 will be ready by the 23rd or the 30th.

First stages...

We've broken down the work into a series of stages, which I will summarize here:

Stage I: this is where we are right now, which basically means shooting basic parts, casting the movie, finishing the script, and formulating an idea of how to edit the movie

Stage II: this is where we assemble the movie as much as we can, and do the more complex scenes, also including editing of the previously shot scenes

Stage III: This is the reshooting process, and editing process

Stage IV: this is where we are done filming, and we edit the movie completely

Stage V: This is where we go through and delete scenes, rearrange scenes, and basically just polish the movie up

Stage VI: This final stage is where we get the movie on DVD and watch it/sell it

The leadership at Hanna Film Association has decided on the series for the hanna holiday film event...... It is a series called Desolation... The first episode is coming to you on November 16th!

New Movies!!!

Despite all of the work that is being put into our feature film: Rapture's Witness, Hanna Film Association is planning on bringing you new short films every other weekend, starting on November 16th... This stretch of movies will only be posted on this blog, and it will go until December 28th! (If you are doing the math, yes, that's four movies, plus a special surprise on the 28th)... So, get ready for the Hanna Holiday Film Event, which will include a new short films, new characters, and new music!

I am writing this as the video loads... Filming day 1 went well, with several blooper shots... Our hardest obstacle to overcome is being just regular teenagers with no training, and here we stand attempting to make a movie. We are not the best actors, but with a little work, I think that this will be the best thing that has ever come from Hanna Film Association. I hope you as a reader enjoy our frequent updates.

Breaking news! We will be releasing several clips of raw footage right here on this blog! Bloopers, deleted scenes, and actual footage will appear here and here only! Also, we have officially started filming, yay! The first raw footage that we are releasing will be released.....NOW! This first scene is not very exciting, but what is exciting is that we are starting filming! Enjoy!

Left Behind

Left Behind: Rapture's Witness is moving slowly, but surely. Filming hopefully begins tomorrow!

Let me just take a few moments to fill you in on a few more specifics about Left Behind: Rapture's Witness (Teen Version). The cast consists of the entire JIE Film crew, the entire Hanna Film Association crew, Scott Paris (Paris Productions), and several other independent filmmakers. The release date of January 1st 2014 is not at all set in stone and it is looking like we may reschedule it for March 3rd or February 15th... The date will be set once we start the editing process. As far as the script is concerned, we have about 1/4 of the script, but we will start filming this week and finish writing the script while we are in the filming stage. We have most of our cast, but we haven't exactly nailed out who is going to play who. Although we have the help of several other film companies, this will be an official Hanna Film Association feature film. At HFA, we've been researching different cinematography techniques, so we intend to utilize some of these techniques. We will hopefully start filming on September 21st and we will intend to be done the majority of the filming by Christmas. If the release date does get moved, then the trailer release date will be moved to January 1st, 2014. The cast & crew looks something like this:

Lighting Up the Dark World

I've started another blog that is not about filmmaking, and to find out what it is about, you'll just have to look! Filming from a Christian Perspective

            Of all the things that influence today’s society, the media is the most influential. What goes into your mind is what will come out in your actions and words. One extremely important part of the media is the film industry. It is my belief that it is possible for Christians to take a stand in the film industry and produce movies that are captivating, yet still biblically based. Sherwood Pictures, creators of Fireproof and Courageous, is a great example of how a movie that is made by Christians should look. If you are looking for a career as an actor, director, editor, etc., or even just learning to discern whether a movie is good or not, I hope that what the Bible says and my thoughts from it will be of some help.

            1 Corinthians 10:31 says “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” This needs to be the first verse that you think of when you’re watching, making, or acting in a movie. In fact, I think that we could ask ourselves this question before doing anything, “Am I bringing glory and honor to God by what I’m doing?” Colossians 3:23 says “Whatever you do, work at it with all your strength, as unto the LORD and not to men.” At the end, when we are in heaven, it won’t matter how many movies you made, or even if you made any at all, but what will matter is the content of movies you’ve watched or made, and how you’ve decided to live your life.

            Now don’t mistake what I am about to say, but I think that violence is alright to put in movies or to watch in movies, as long as the film does not dwell on it. In some films, violence and evil are shown as the better path to take, and they seem rewarding, and that is when evil is wrong in a film. Violence is a part of the fallen world, and so I believe that it is alright to have only as much violence as you need to develop a plot, and no more. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is a film based on the book by C.S. Lewis, who was a Christian author, and yes, he had violence and evil in his books, and there is violence and evil in the movie. I have no real problem with that, because in that particular movie, the evil is portrayed as definite evil, and violence is portrayed how it should be: a horrific, awful problem that infests our world.

           

           

            A big issue in movies is sexual immorality and immodesty. You might say, “Well, I would NEVER watch a movie that has that in it!” The truth is, that theme is quickly creeping in to most movies that are coming out, and the sin may be subtle in movies now, but if you allow any of it in your movie-watching, it will soon become a large issue. Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” If we’re meditating (or “thinking about”) violence, cursing, and sexual immorality, then we’re in some big trouble. Instead, Paul says whatever is PURE, whatever is NOBLE, and so on.

            In conclusion, if your film is desired to bring glory to God, you do your best and leave the results up to Him. If you truly sought to bring Him glory, then your production was a complete success. Refrain from dwelling on violence, evil, and sexual immorality. I hope that I’ve gotten close to the point of how Christians can affect the media. Let me end with this: Christians have huge potential to affect the media, and more importantly the film industry, but their main goal has to be to bring glory to God, and leave the results up to him.

BREAKING NEWS!

Breaking News! Hanna Film Association is back, and with a new idea. We have a team of almost twenty people around the globe that are working on a new film series. I am not revealing what it is yet, but it will be a series with ten movies that are all around one to two hours long. JIE films is playing a huge part in this, and we hope to have the first one on DVD by January 1st, 2014. It will be a lot of work, but with everybody pitching in, I'm sure we will get this done! The videos will not be posted on Youtube, although the trailer will be. Thank you for staying in touch with Hanna Film Association, and we will be posting regularly now!

Saturday Morning Update!!!

Good Morning! Once again, I apologize for it NOT being Saturday, but we're very busy here with non-movie related stuff. We're hoping to work with JIE films again in an epic film, but I won't say much on that until it's set in stone. We are releasing the first JIE and HFA co-production ever this Saturday, so don't miss it! Saturday Morning Update!!!

Good Morning from the Hanna Film Association! I'll quickly update you on what's going on here at HFA, we have purchased a green screen and so we'll be making some movies that involve that soon! Operation: Bible Delivery 2 is giving us some trouble, and won't upload, but still hoping to have that up by tonight. We have made a deal with two new actors and one new actress to be in Undercover 3, and that just leaves us with two more spots to fill. Thank you, and I'll post Operation: Bible Delivery 2 when ready!

Saturday Morning Update!

Good morning! A lot going on at Hanna Film Association this week and last, as we have almost finished the filming of Operation: Bible Delivery 2. In fact, the trailer is given below for Operation: Bible Delivery 2. We are also planning to purchase a green screen today, allowing us to use several cool techniques. We have almost finished a deal with a new actor to play in Undercover 3. We have also made a deal with an actress to play in Undercover 3, which is shaping up to be EPIC! (if you haven't seen the previous Undercover movies, the second link is to a playlist of them). Operation: Bible Delivery 2 is coming out next Saturday (March 9th), followed by, Lord willing, Xavier Park 2. We should be releasing Undercover 3 in April some time, and also we'll have a new series coming out called, "The adventures of Tom Thumb," and the first one of them should be coming out in May.
